To help keep Defensio humming along smoothly, we ask that our commercial and professional partners pay a small amount for the service.
Since we have to draw the line somewhere, we consider personal use to be a blog that receives less than 50K comments (spam + innocent) per month, and that it generates less than $250/month in direct revenue (ads, commissions, etc.). We will also freely protect all personal Facebook pages that are not used for commercial purposes.
This should cover the vast majority of our users. However, there is a small (but highly passionate!) group of people out there that will want to leverage Defensio's comment-spam-fighting abilities in their own applications or in industrial-strength ways. For these people we offer flexible commercial API licenses, at reasonable prices, to help us ensure the viability of Defensio for all its users.
During the beta period, Defensio and Defensio for Facebook are offered for free to commercial and professional users.
Our fair pricing model will be announced in the coming months. This will include additional volume support and features.
